Things have been a little hectic behind the scenes here at behind yellow eyes so we weren’t able to spread the word about this weeks round table -although it was mentioned in last week’s post that we were looking for a panel and questions for this week. Needless to say no one contacted us to be on panel and no questions were submitted. So for next week we’re going to change it up a bit. Next week’s panel will contain spoilers and focus on the ending of each book. I will post the questions here and if you choose to send us your answers you could be featured on next week’s panel. Do not post your answers in the comments. 1. Which book had your favorite ending? What did you love about it? 2. Which book’s ending surprised/shocked you the most? What surprised or shocked you about it? 3. There seem to be a lot of people who think FOREVER ended on a cliffhanger. Do you agree with that? How do you feel about how the series ended? Do not reply to these questions in the comments. To be on the panel for this discussion e-mail your questions to us at behindyelloweyes@yahoo.com. If you have a theme idea or question you’d like to present for next week you can leave them in the comments. |

Happy Tuesday everyone! For this week’s round table discussion, we thought we’d reach out to the male Shiver fans for their opinions. This week we’re talking to Zack, JP, and Corey. Thanks guys for your participation and thanks to everyone who submitted questions! If anyone would like to participate in next week’s discussion or submit questions, you know how to reach us! Question 1: What attracted you to SHIVER? Is it the first paranormal romance you’ve read? JP: The synopsis. The cover didn’t hurt, but I try not to judge whether to pick something up based on its cover and give the synopsis a try. As soon as I finished reading the summary, I knew I had to read it. Zack: My sister in law gave me Linger so I read the back of it and it sounded so amazing so I said you have to get me Shiver. So I guess the descriptive writing on Linger got me really excited for Shiver. It’s not the first paranormal romance I’ve read though. I read Twilight of course but I do like this series more. Shiver ( while being about werewolves) is a more believable romance. It’s real and it doesn’t feel like Maggie was over doing it. Corey: What first got me interested in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy was when Maggie came and had a signing at my local B&N. I had never heard of her before and her new novel SHIVER sounded interesting. I went to the event and had my book signed and that night started it and was impressed by how well and beautifully written it was. No, the Twilight Saga was the first paranormal romance that I had read. Question 2: Why do you think other male readers of YA should pick up this trilogy? JP: The Wolves of Mercy Falls (and Maggie’s Books of Faerie, for that matter) are books that I love so much, they have found a special place in my heart. I don’t reread books– except Maggie’s. I think that anyone, regardless of gender or age or anything else, should pick up The Wolves of Mercy Falls (and all of Maggie’s books) because there is a good chance that they will find the same thing– an inspiring story that you’ll always love. Zack: I believe other male readers should pick this series up just for the fact that it really is a great series. If they like being taken to another world then this is definitely the right series. Corey: I think that other guys should read this trilogy because it’s one of the best written book series that I’ve read in awhile. Question 3: Maggie has said that she wrote SHIVER because she wanted to make readers cry, did you cry after reading any of the books? JP: I teared up a little during Shiver, didn’t cry during Linger, and was a hot sobbing snotty mess after Forever. Zack: While I did not cry after reading any of the books I did feel sad and I did feel the need to cry or be sad because it’s a case of forbidden love. Corey: I actually didn’t cry while reading these books, but I can see why some people would. |
